One of the most fascinating aspects of Tuscany is its landscape, surprising and extremely varied, which gives even more value to our region. You will have the opportunity to admire wonderful views and enchanting panoramas that will leave you breathless.

A Sugestion For You:

From San Gimignano to Monteriggioni via the Via Francigena

One of the most beautiful stages of the Via Francigena. From San Gimignano begins a stage of 29.8 km which can be covered in about 7 hours. After an initial stretch, you go up and down paths in the valley of the Foci torrent that wades near the Molino d’Aiano.

An ascending path leads us to the Romanesque parish church of Santa Maria a Coneo. Then you cross the bridge over the Elsa and arrive at the Romanesque church of San Martino di Strove. Finally we reach the Abbadia a Isola complex, before seeing Monteriggioni, with its walls and the unmistakable crown of towers that dominate the hill.

The path of the Francigena in the Monteriggioni territory winds mostly through fields and woods, touching ancient castles, abbeys and small villages.

Among the places visited during the journey: the village of Santa Lucia, the Molino d’Aiano, Badia a Coneo, Quartaia, Onci, Strove, the castle of Petraia and Badia a Isola.
